Traditionally an evaporator fresh water generator was the standard on board. Drivers for an alternative ask for a different technology and thus a different type of fresh water generator: the Reverse Osmosis (RO) fresh water generator. Hatenboer-Water was an early adapter of Reverse Osmosis technology maritime fresh water generators.

A year ago Royal Wagenborg started out with a pilot with bottle filling stations installed on board of six vessels. At this point, almost forty vessels are equipped with a bottle filling station and saved 179,000 single-use plastic bottles, which resulted in 2,8 tons of plastic waste. 

With water being the most precious of all our sources, we must look at the bigger picture and protect our oceans from plastic pollution. At Hatenboer-Water we realised we had to come with the alternative: our Plastic Free @Sea solution.

We are happy to inform you Hatenboer-Water has appointed Aberdeen based water management and compliance company OWM Group (Offshore Water Management Ltd) to extend its network as to sales, product delivery and onboard installation and services.

For the first time an energy innovation is set to take place at a distance of 13 kilometres off the Dutch coast. Green hydrogen will be produced offshore on an operational platform. This pilot project is known as PosHYdon and Hatenboer-Water is proud partner! The process for making green hydrogen starts with converting seawater into demineralised water on the platform. The demineralised water is then converted into hydrogen via electrolysis. Wind power provides the energy required for producing the green hydrogen.

We are happy to announce the representation of Hatenboer-Water by Ålesund Maritime SA in Norway. Ålesund Maritime and Hatenboer-Water started to get acquainted once both organisations noticed each other’s vision and core values.
